Hydra System Guide

The Hydra system developed by Fourmis shop provides the modules with the humidity your ants need.
Each module with the Hydra system comes with a 10 ml glass bottle, its connector allowing it to be connected to the Hydra system, as well as a cap allowing use without a tube.

To use the Hydra system with the bottle, simply unscrew the connector from the bottle, fill the bottle with water, screw back the connector, and then screw the connector onto the Hydra system. The water's lifespan is approximately three weeks, depending on temperature conditions. Control is also easy; simply refill the bottle when it's almost empty.

It's also possible to use the Hydra system without a bottle for a cleaner look. You can then moisten the Hydra system using a syringe and then close the system using the provided cap. This helps slow evaporation. Be careful not to replace the cap until the Hydra system has absorbed the water you added.
When you receive a new module with the Hydra system, it will be dry. You will need to re-wet it before using the module with ants. To do this, pour a few drops of water onto the Hydra system using a syringe. Then wait a few minutes for the system to absorb the water, then add a few more drops. The module is now ready to use.
Finally, you'll need to be careful when coming out of diapause. The temperature change can cause flooding. To avoid this, disconnect the bottle and suck the water out of the sponge using a syringe or pipette. Once the module has acclimated to the new temperature, it's then possible to refill the system with water. To be completely safe, it's a good idea to use the hydra system without the bottle for a few days after the module returns to a warm environment.
